SIT Qualification

On this page you can find more information on the Systems Integration Testing (SIT) participant route through Qualification. 

SIT participants worked with the MHHS Programme to complete their Pre-Integration Testing (PIT) and SIT activities (using defined PIT and SIT Exit Criteria). Where any defects remained at the end of SIT, Code Bodies worked with the SIT participant and MHHS Programme to ensure that these were appropriately mitigated.

SIT participants were required to provide an Initial Qualification Assessment Document (QAD) submission to Code Bodies so that Code Bodies could assess SIT participant evidence. Code Bodies reviewed this information and worked with the SIT participant to clarify and assure that the information provided met Code Body requirements for MHHS Qualification. SIT participants worked with the MHHS Programme to complete SIT. Where a test couldn't be completed in SIT, SIT participants developed work-off plans which were reviewed by the MHHS Programme and agreed with the Code Bodies. SIT participants provided a Final QAD Submission once they had completed SIT. Code Bodies reviewed the Final QAD Submission and worked with the SIT participant to finalise it, including closing any required work-off plans to manage defects that couldn't be resolved through SIT.

Once the QAD content was agreed as complete for the purposes of MHHS Qualification, it needed to be signed by a Company Director (or delegate for roles governed only under the Retail Energy Code (REC)).

Code Bodies approved MHHS Qualification for the SIT participant in accordance with Section 11.3 MHHS Qualification Approval. Once MHHS Qualified, a SIT participant needed to undertake Service Activation before it could operate in the new MHHS arrangements. 

SIT participants were expected to complete their testing through the SIT route. MHHS Programme and Code Bodies worked with SIT participants to help ensure that this happened. Participants who couldn't complete SIT were accommodated into the most appropriate Qualification Wave. The way forward depended on the participant, what prevented the completion of SIT testing, how much testing was completed, and where this was within the MHHS Programme timelines. It operated on a case by case basis. SIT Qualification Testing Work-Off Plan Template

The purpose of the template was to capture any work-off items where QT requirements couldn't successfully be demonstrated through QT.  A completed template was required to provide sufficient information to Code Bodies and the Data Integration Platform (DIP) Manager so they could assess the impact of proposed items. Work-off items should have aligned with the QT exit criteria set out in the Qualification Approach and Plan plus associated Annexes as well as Code Bodies' and DIP Manager’s Assessment Criteria, Qualification Approach & Plan and Risk Register.  

The completed template was required to be submitted alongside a Programme participant's QT completion report. Providing early sight of work-off items was highly encouraged. A SIT and QT Test Plan increased risk to participants' Qualification being approved by Code Bodies and the DIP Manager within the  planned timeframes, so it was strongly recommended that these items were resolved during testing rather than as a work-off item.
