Reflecting on one year of MHHS Migrations

◆ Published: 23/10/2026

This week marked the anniversary of Milestone 11 (M11) which signified the start of Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) Migration, and so we wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on the incredible progress and achievement that we have made so far!

One year on from those tentative first migration initiations, we now have 44 Suppliers actively migrating, with several having already completed their migration plans as they stand, and the remaining Suppliers qualified and planning to start in the coming weeks.

To date, over 25 million Meter Point Administration Numbers (MPANs) have been migrated to MHHS arrangements, which represents over 70% of the total MPANs in the market.

This is an amazing achievement in just 12 months, during which time we have not seen any significant issues arising from the MHHS design or operating model.

We are also beginning to see tangible benefits in Settlement Performance with more Half Hourly data entering settlement earlier in the process than under legacy arrangements.

Over 25 Giga-watt Hours (GWh) were settled in MHHS in the last II Settlement Run and the Settlement Performance data shows a significant increase in actual volume with more actual volume in the II run than in the R3 run prior to M11.

All of this is testament to the incredible hard work and collaboration of all of our participants across the industry, and the dedication of the Migration Control Centre (MCC) who are constantly evolving to meet their needs throughout the migration journey.

With just over six months, that's just three Sprints, to go until Milestone 15 (M15) there is still work to do, but we've already shown what can be achieved when everyone comes together behind a shared goal, and we are confident that we will succeed.
